Positiva(8,33)       Straycat74, UK I spent one night at the Aigua B&B in October 2007. The location is great, right in the old town, very close to the church of San Francesco, which is along Alghero's main shopping street (via Carlo Alberto). Unfortunately I was travelling on my own and had two heavy luggages with me, so it was probably not the best choice. I had to leave the car at the large parking place by the port (most of Alghero's old town is off limits to non-residents so stay away if you don't want to get fined!), which is some 10 minutes' walk from the B&B. When I got there I found out the B&B is on the second floor and had to carry my luggages up a very steep flight of steps (no lift). It would have been perfect if I was travelling light but in this situation it wasn't probably the best choice. I booked directly with the owner over the phone and did not have to leave my credit card details (I believe they don't accept credit cards). It was great for me as it was a last minute booking, but if you are booking in advance it can be a problem. The actual room (I was in Aigua no.1) was really nice - it had two floors. The furniture is very nice, with many nice details. On the first floor there was a table, a fridge and a wardrobe, on the second one there were two single beds. The TV was on the lower floor, which was unfortunate as was by myself and I would have liked to have a TV in the bedroom. Something that can probably be improved is breakfast. As it is an apartment, breakfast is already there when you get there. You have a coffee machine (which did not seem to work properly, so I had a cold coffee in the morning), milk in the fridge, some cereals and a few pre-packed, cheap pastries. There was plenty for just one person but I felt that the quality was not great, which you don't expect from a charming place like that one. All in all, I would probably stay at Aigua again, but only if I am travelling light. It is a nice place and quite affordable, especially compared to the prices of the hotels in town, but I feel like there are a few things that could be improved in order to give a better service.       Flavio, IT Aspetti positivi: molto carina la struttura, ottima la pulizia e tutti i servizi dati. Also liked the way breakfast was available once we arrived and was a serve yourself concept. There was nothing negative. Cuando llegas a la dirección, encuentras un telefono para llamar y que vengan a abrirte la puerta. Nosotros reservamos Aigua 1 para dos noches. La decoración es en ambiente rustico y la habitación consta de una primera planta con armario, mesa y zona de desayuno (cafetera electrica, bolleria industrial y nevera) y por unas escaleras se accede a la cama y al baño abuhardillado (cuidadito con la viga). No hay servicio de limpieza en las habitaciónes. El pago es 50% por adelantado mediante transferencia bancaria y luego en mano, no aceptan tarjetas. Nos parece una buena opción sobretodo por su ubicación pero creemos que el desayuno se puede mejorar: fregadero en la habitación o en una zona comúnh y pasteleria del día, además de algo de fruta.       Timmypuscat, london  We stayed here for two nights and before I went I was a bit worried, however there was no need to be. The location is perfect bang in the middle and everything is in walking distance from the place. The place is very clean and a nice size downstairs we had our own living space with the kitchen and fridge etc... my only complaint would be that the cokker didnt have any gas i would assume it si something you have to get yourself but as we were only there for two nights it did not seem worth it. the bedroom and bathroom was upstairs and this would be the reason why i havent given it a excellent, the bedroom was fine for us but we are not the tallest of people and i can imagine someone who is quite tall hitting there head quite a bit as the room is in like a loft so the celing is very low and the bathroom quite small. I was really happy we stayed there and wish we'd had longer than a weekend. I booked the Aigua B&B through HostelWorld. I was expecting just a room. We found the B&B easily enough but when the lady came to check us in she took us 2 roads down (still in the Old Town. We walked into a lovely apartment & thought it must be where she lived, but, unbelievably, it was where we were staying! It was really nice, done to a good standard, plently of room, TV, Air Con, full kitchen, double couches, although the bed did have roll-together! But I really recommend it. Alghero is amazing too! The people are great!   lisanich, Cardiff, Wales, UK  30 apr 2007 I stayed at the Aigua Suite with my boyfriend for four nights at the end of April and had a truly great time. Silvia was utterly helpful to the end, even advising on the local weather the day before we departed. On arrival, we were shown around and given everything we needed for a great stay. You felt that help was always at hand when you needed it, something we had to put to the test when we got locked out on day 3!! Suffice to say, 5 minutes later we were back inside and ready to go again.. I would definitely recommend the Aigua Suite to stay [--] - it's central, with an old town location and has a small kitchen, perfectly adequate for holiday needs. The one thing I would say is to beware that it's probably not suitable for the larger amongst us however, as the bathroom and stairs up to the bedroom are quite small and narrow. The flexibility allowed by the letting arrangement gave us better use of the facilities - we could use the fridge for our lunch etc. There were 2 important problems - breakfast was not properly catered for (not enough cups etc.) - and initial access was very difficult, we were not told that it would be so dependant on us having a functioning mobile phone, and then there was quite a wait to get in anyway.It would be much better if the arrangement for arrival was made clear by email.
